RuneScape: Dragonwilds guide
Water for farming: rivers, wells and barrels
River water can be used directly for watering crops. Jagex also identifies wells and raincatcher barrels as clean-water sources.
Crops do not require clean water
The Fellhollow farming introduction says you can fill a watering can from a river and use it directly on the soil. Do not turn the availability of clean water into a requirement that every crop must be watered with it. This guidance concerns farming, not drinking-water preparation.
Clean-water sources and storage
The same introduction identifies the Well and Raincatcher Barrel as sources of clean water. Storage barrels cannot mix the two water types. Water already inside a watering can cannot be purified directly, so the container distinction matters when reading the farming instructions.
What this guide does not cover
This guide does not provide a drinking-water recipe, building materials, water quantities or an unlimited-well claim. It describes the cited farming introduction; current 1.0 behavior has not been tested in-game here.
